Allergy Cooking With Ease. This classic all-purpose allergy cookbook was out of print and we got so many requests for it that it is now is making a comeback in a revised edition. It includes all the old favorite recipes of the first edition plus many new recipes and new foods.
This book was the outgrowth of coping with a child with food allergies, so the many of recipes are geared towards kids. It contains over 300 recipes for baked goods, main and side dishes (including some “comfort foods”), soups, salads, vegetables, ethnic dishes, and desserts (mostly fruit-sweetened, but a few sugar-sweetened) including lots of cookies. The book includes “kid” recipes ranging from teething biscuits to no-grain cookies that could pass for “Oreos™”.
Although there are several grain or grain alternatives given among the recipes for each type of baked food (muffins, crackers, etc.), this book has more “fun” recipes and does not cater to the rotation diet to the degree that The Ultimate Food Allergy Cookbook and Survival Guide does. If you are want to make your allergy diet a little more light-hearted, this is the book for you! The informational sections of the book are also totally updated, including the extensive “Sources” section.
